Stuck Together
03:56
|
|||
She let me inside her life
On a bridge we met each other
Very generous for a stranger
Told each other how we felt
She gave away a little part of herself
She took my heart when she took my health
We stick together
Be sick together
I couldn't do that to anyone else
Well some things they last forever
And we will stay together
Our disease is our love's tether
Always acting honestly
Trying your best to be clear
Now I fear what no one knows is what hurts them

Baby on the Way
03:20
|
|||
She's got baby on the way
She's not telling anyone it's name
And I know she would have some good ideas
And she is worried more than she appears
Everybody knows she is going to be a good mother

Bag of Stones
03:36
|
|||
My mind is a bag of stones
Smack them around
Break them down
The bag won't get any lighter
Drop it in the river and it will sink
Settle on the ground
They cool down
Until they sit there doing nothing
And the water it flows through
The bag it dances in the current
The stones they don't
It goes like that forever
A wet thing can't get wetter
Drag it through the desert and it will sit
Don't make a sound
Sand piles up around
You can't make a dumb thing clever
And the wind it blows through
The bag it hopes to be blown away
The stones they don't
It goes like that forever
A dead thing can't get better
My mind is a bag of stones
Smack them around
Break them down
And something will spark
The bag's lighting up the dark

Jackson and Blondie
04:20
|
|||
Jackson he is a stallion and Blondie she is a mare
She is an old racehorse, a palomino with beauty to spare
They could have put her in the show and she could have won
But Blondie just loved to run
You could not stop her when she wanted to go
Now she's out on Anderson's moving slow
Jackson and Blondie never liked the cold
They had a hard winter and now they're getting old
Jackson he is a stallion, eighteen hand tall
He always was a lady's horse, the strongest of them all
He had a hard winter he's hard to recognise
One eye was blind he couldn't keep away the flies
His coat once a shiny black had turned to brown
His face was grey and his ribs were out
He moves slowly out in the field
He had a hard winter and now he's getting old
Jackson and Blondie never liked the cold
They had a hard winter and now they're getting old

Karaoke Cowboy
03:21
|
|||
I learn the songs and I try to sing them
Try to channel that truth and honesty
My love for the wild places
All across my country
But any cowboy can see I am a phoney
Pick it the second that I step in the bar
I sing of horses but I never rode one
Could never find my way by stars
Kara o ee o ee o ke cowboy
Nothing but a karaoke cowboy
I have learnt to sing of hurt
And I know how to wear a flannel shirt
I got a pair of Wrangler jeans
and a recipe for chuckwagon beans
Kara o ee o ee o ke cowboy
Nothing but a karaoke cowboy

Lavender
04:40
|
|||
The smell it comes through my window when I'm going off to sleep
and it lies there with me the whole night while I dream
Lavender
The smell it comes through my window in the morning when I wake
Most of the time I don't notice at first because it never went away
Lavender
On the days I go off to work I think about the smell
Takes me to heaven and to hell
And I tell myself I should stay out of the garden
Stay out of the garden, stay off the garden
Stay off the garden, stay forgotten
Loving her, leaving her, Lavender

Sunshine Coast Girl
03:15
|
|||
Through the pines and through the cane
Through burning heat and pouring rain
Living for another time
I always dream that I see her again
I am lost and then she calls out my name
One thing on my mind
The girl that I left behind me
The girl that I left behind
That sweet loving sunshine
Sunshine Coast girl of mine
I always dream I fall asleep in her arms
Oh Southern girls have got their charms
But one thing, one thing on my mind
My heart falls back to the sunshine and the sand
Swimming in salt and holding her hand
I’m going back to where I can find
The girl that I left behind me
The girl that I left behind
That sweet loving sunshine
Sunshine Coast girl of mine

The Clearance
03:12
|
|||
Got all this stuff second hand
and not much use for it
Got a place in my place
I'm getting used to it
In my head I filled the space
All these things I wish I could remember
I can not, have gone away
I wish I could remember
Found a bandage with your name on it
I wore that a long time
I didn't need to I was fine
But it felt good there I wore it with pride
I want to know just what I need to
Everything else can go
I want to be just like as a baby
And take notice of everything
I wish I could remember
Every part of me getting replaced
all happens so easy
Stuff I've done, the things I've lost
I wish were written down for me
